Interview with Robin Dierckx, CTO at Inoopa
Inoopa is an artificial intelligence (AI) company, created in 2016, which specialises in determining the "economic DNA" of any company. Thanks to its AI, Inoopa analyses the semantic content and the analysis of images contained in more than 200 different sources. This technology allows, among other things, companies to know all the companies active in the same sector, to prospect for companies with similar profiles and to enrich their database by improving the NACE or SBI codes.
Robin recently joined bevopr in the hope of finding the senior IT developer his team was missing. We have asked him for an interview so that he can share his experience with you.
Hello Robin. Thank you for accepting this interview. So, can you explain us first why did you chose bevopr?
Hello. With pleasure. So, we were looking for several IT developers to join our start-up. I heard about the platform bevopr.io and decided to give it a try! Compared to LinkedIn, I noticed that bevopr.io is particularly useful for finding senior developers who need to learn new technologies. And it happens that we have the technologies to do so. While on LinkedIn, when I post my ad a lot of juniors apply... but no seniors. I think it's because they are fed up being harassed! Being a developer myself, what's annoying is the recruitment agencies, what's cool with your platform is that you bypass that!
How was your experience on bevopr?
Very pleasant. I found it super lean, super clean. The one thing I really liked that I can't find anywhere else: as a CTO, I can target the right guys, which I can't do with LinkedIn or other tools. Being able to indicate your skills allows you to target very precisely. We also received the notifications at the right time, so in short, nothing to complain about.
What did you do to hire your IT developer?
We first contacted each other 1 month ago to end up signing with him 2 weeks after. It went really fast! I first registered on the platform, then wrote the job description. My strategy was to indicate only one skill I was looking for in order to brew wide and get a lot of potential matches. I chose Python because it’s a much sought-after and key skill. It's actually in the description itself that I have mentioned all the technologies we use. When my registration was complete, I liked about thirty profiles. Each time a match was made, I started the conversation. And in the case of the developer we recruited, he was the one who initiated the discussion, so it was a very good sign! We then contacted each other by phone, to finally organise several interviews in a week. It was very condensed, until we signed two weeks ago!
What type of profile did you hire?
We've just hired a very nice profile: a senior Python developer, data engineer oriented for a permanent contract. I think that the fact that the candidate can directly visualise the technologies we use is what interested him. Because to be frank, as a start-up we are not able to pay people at the same price as what they are paid elsewhere. So in our case it's really great because what attracts a lot of developers is all the technologies a company uses. Candidates saw that we use cool technologies so the match was more about content than about salary package for example.
Thank you for sharing your experience! Will you be using bevopr in the future?
Thank you for the conversation! And yes, definitely, as we are still looking for several IT developers.
Would you also like to hire an IT developer? Or maybe are you an IT developer looking for a job/mission?
